We arrange for a number of trips each semester, especially during the summer when students are in town for a shorter period of time. For these trips, students pay an at-cost fee, which covers transport, programming, and sometimes food, and we will take care of the rest.

There are many organizations in Jordan for people who want to travel independently as well. Jordan has many tourist sites, and is relatively easy to get around. There are places of interest in Amman, but even more places outside of Amman, all accessible in day-trips.

 Some places include:

  • Iraq Al Amir

  • Ma’an Hot Springs

  • Wadi Mujib

  • Wadi Hidan

  • Dead Sea

  • Aqaba

  • Wadi Rum

  • Jerash

  • Ajloun Castle

  • Ajloun Reserve

  • Dana Reserve

  • Karak Castle

  • Pella

  • Umm Qais

  • Madaba/Mt Nebo/Baptismal Site

  • Jabal Haroun

  • Little Petra

  • Petra

  • King Talal Dam

  • Qasr Amra and other Desert Castles

  • Amman Citadel / Roman Amphitheater in Downtown Amman

  • Azraq Wetlands

Students also often take advantage of the prime location of Jordan to travel to other Middle Eastern destinations such as Palestine, Egypt, etc. Low-cost flights are often available and students are encouraged to travel during the semester breaks. Be sure to check with your embassy on the countries you are able to travel to, and take note of travel advisories before you go.
